The French Professional Football League (LFP) has officially divided its upcoming rights tender into 12 packages for the first time.
The LFP offered four in 2004.
The league will issue the tender 30 November 30. With an extension to four-year deals from three-year pacts, the league wants to attract more bidders into the process.
Part of the reason is to counteract Canal Plus, the present rights holder, which has said it will not match the current EUR 600 million payout in place. The league is seeking a minimum of EUR 750 million per season from new deals.
