Asian Serie A TV rights deal announced

The assignment of Italian Serie A media rights for the 2007-2010 seasons in Hong Kong, China P.R, Macau, Vietnam and South Korea were announced by Media Partners & Silva and Dentsu.

In Hong Kong, Serie A will be aired for the first time by two pay-TV companies, Now Broadband TV (PCCW) that will broadcast a minimum of 130 matches on the new Mega Sports Channel and I Cable TV that will broadcast 60 matches.

In China, CCTV obtained the broadcast rights of 60 matches and Hi Sun Technology got the new-media rights. The main package is yet to be awarded.

Vietnam Advertising attained the broadcast rights for 130 matches for Vietnam, while in Macau, TDM (Teledifusao de Macau) won the exclusive rights for all matches distributed by Media Partners & Silva and Dentsu. In South Korea, MediaCorp secured the new-media rights.

These deals were agreed to as a result of the ITT, Invitation To Tender, which was launched with Dentsu Inc. in early January.
