Mediapro is trying to corner the market on Spain's elite teams, offering Primera Liga club Real Madrid EUR 170 million a year for seven years of TV rights.
Mediapro, which has given Real Madrid until July 31 to accept the offer, already has the rights for Barcelona, Athletic Bilbao and Real Zaragoza.
Real Madrid currently receives approximately EUR 55 million a year from Spanish Pay-TV broadcaster Sogecable. That deal expires at the end of the 2007-2008 season.
