The exclusive free television rights in Germany to the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Cup between 2009 and 2012 have been awarded to ProSiebenSat.1.
Premiere won the paid television rights in Germany for all UEFA Champions League matches.
The UEFA Champions League broadcasting rights will include the UEFA Super Cup tournaments in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
ProSiebenSat.1 plans to air a UEFA Cup program night, which will include the live broadcasting of two consecutive games, and a highlights programme afterwards, for each match week.
Premiere will continue to cover every match and every goal for Germany.
Both companies plan to use their rights to make match footage and other coverage available via the internet and mobile devices for fans.
