Bundesliga clubs will be given details within the week on the pending models of broadcast right sales.
The German top-tier rights will cover three seasons beginning with the 2009-2010 season. The Sirius production and distribution agency already presented proposals to the German Football League, and will inform clubs of the plans.
Sources have indicated that 18 live matches will be reserved for free-to-air television, while the number of Sunday matches has been increased from two to three.
German newspaper Bild wrote that there are two proposals as far as Bundesliga highlights on free-to-air channels. The first model reserves a 6 p.m. spot for Saturday highlights and a 10 p.m. timeframe for Sunday highlights. The second has Saturday highlights not starting before 10 p.m., but allows Sunday highlights to be shown earlier in the evening.
ARD currently airs its highlights programme at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. But pay-operator Premiere wants that shown later in the evening to give it more exclusivity.
