Antena 1 took the rights to the UEFA Cup latter stages and the UEFA Super Cup for the next three seasons.
The UEFA Cup rights comprise quarterfinal matches on through the final, while the UEFA Super Cup is contested each year by the reigning UEFA Champions League and UEFA Cup holders in Monaco. The one-off game at the Stade Louis II traditionally heralds the start of a new European club competition campaign.
"Antena 1 won the rights following a very competitive sales process, reflecting a healthy television marketplace in Romania and a high demand for quality football," UEFA said. "With a strong market share and an extensive portfolio of sports programming, Antena 1 is well placed to give the UEFA Cup and UEFA Super Cup excellent exposure on Romanian TV."
