Mediapro issued a statement that said it accepted a suggestion by Sogecable SA unit, Audiovisual Sport (AVS), and will split this season's Spanish football broadcasting rights with the same conditions as last year.
The company also said it told the Spanish Football League (LPF) that "this (decision) does not resolve the deeper problems which are currently under discussion."
Mediapro and AVS are in a legal dispute over joint operation of the football rights, with Mediapro claiming that a contract signed in 2006 is no longer binding.
Under the new contract, the production company will use the same broadcasting schedule as last season for premier league, second division and international broadcasting rights.
Mediapro airs matches through the free-to-air channel, La Sexta, in which owns shares, while Sogecable airs through a pay-per-view plan on its Digital+ platform and its pay-TV channel Canal+.
In the meantime, LFP is changing its policy and will generate the broadcast signal for Primera and Segunda Liga matches instead of using either Audiovisual Sport or Mediapro, while the disagreement lingers on.
The LFP's General Extraordinary Assembly approved the resolution.
"We're demanding that both operators meet their contractual obligations as the current broadcast rights are not being respected," read a statement issued by LFP president, José Luis Astiazarán.
"We want the correct and effective exploitation of the rights in all formats, nationally and internationally."
