Broadcasters land rights to World Cups

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
A pair of Russian broadcasters teamed up to jointly secure World Cup rights for 2010 and 2014. Terms were not revealed.

All-Russia State TV Company (VGTRK) and First Channel purchased the rights, which will be beamed across the country on Rossiya, Sport and First Channel.

VGTRK and First Channel have been broadcasting major football tournaments together since the 1994 World Cup. Matches typically are divvied up evenly between the two.
