Canal , the rights owner for screening the English Premier League matches in Norway, has refused to cooperate with state television channel TV2. The state channel, which out bided Canal earlier this year in the race for the Norwegian league rights, has applied to buy the rights to broadcast the Premier League highlights. “I see this as consequence of that”, said TV2-director Bjorn Taalesen. Canal has instead sold some of the rights to NRK – another Norwegian channel. NRK also lost out to TV2 for the rights to the Norwegian league.
