Infront Sports & Media has reached agreement with Media Holding MMC of Azerbaijan for the broadcast rights to a series of FIFA events, including exclusive free-to-air television broadcast rights to all 64 matches of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany and the 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup. The channel on which Media Holding will broadcast the events is Lider TV, a commercial station. All rights acquired are exclusive across the territory of Azerbaijan in the local language. As well as the live broadcast rights for all matches of both the 2006 FIFA World Cup and the upcoming FIFA Confederations Cup (15th - 19th June 2005), Media Holding has also acquired the exclusive free-television broadcast rights to the Final Draw for the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Leipzig, Germany in December and the 2005 and 2006 FIFA World Player Galas. Media Holding have also acquired the programming rights to the FIFA Official Preview Series (a series of 16 x 26-minute programmes leading up to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, produced by Infront in association with FIFA). "We are delighted that we have been able to reach such a comprehensive and wide-ranging deal with Media Holding in Azerbaijan" said Oliver Seibert, an Executive Director of Infront. "It means that viewers will be able to enjoy a varied and comprehensive array of programmes, adding considerable depth to their World Cup experience."
