According to Nielsen Media Research, Copa Libertadores and Copa Campeones which are broadcasts by Spanish language channel Fox Sports en Espanol have returned huge ratings. , provider of the most reliable television statistics in the United States. The Copa Campeones match between Costa Rica’s Saprissa and Pumas of Mexico achieved a 4.62 rating among Hispanic men aged between 18 and 49, which ranked 12th out of the top 25 programs ever broadcast by the channel. The game between Chivas de Guadalajara of Mexico and Chile’s Cobreloa for the Copa Libertadores delivered an outstanding 5.15 rating, coming in sixth out of the top 25 programs. "Undoubtedly, soccer runs deep in the veins of the U.S. Hispanic community; and especially for our viewers of Mexican background, football is more than a symbol of pride, it is unmistakably a way of life, Sternberg commented to media. There are 40m Hispanics in the U.S., the majority of whom are of Mexican descent.
