TSN and RDS have landed the EURO 2008 TV rights for Canada, with the deal yielding the rights in both English and French.
Also included are new media rights including broadband, video on mobile devices, video-on-demand and interactive TV.
Under the deal, TSN and RDS will provide multi-platform coverage of all 31 matches of tournament, which features the Top 16 European national teams.
Additional coverage includes a highlights show on match day, EURO 2008 Final Draw, magazine programs, and unlimited encores across both networks and media platforms. TSN will also have postmatch coverage.
"As we saw earlier this summer, soccer's popularity in Canada continues to thrive, and it will continue to do so with first-class tournaments like EURO," said Phil King, President of TSN.
"Our ability to provide complete coverage of EURO 2008 across more media platforms than ever before will serve to enhance our tradition of delivering high profile international soccer to our ever-growing fan base," said Gerry Frappier, President of Le Réseau des sports.
TSN and RDS have been televising the UEFA Champions League matches for more than 10 years. TSN's coverage this year includes 37 games, from the group stage all the way to the final, while RDS is airing 25 matches.
