Court ruling pushes Mediapro to pay Sogecable to air matches
Spain - 07 November, 2007
Mediapro was dealt another setback in its ongoing feud with Sogecable when a court ruled that the company must acquire rights from Sogecable subsidiary Audiovisual Sports if it wants to continue broadcasting Spanish league matches.
Mediaprp has been airing matches on La Sexta without Sogecable's permission. The two sides are in a rancorous dispute over TV rights ownership.
The broadcaster seems stubborn, however. Mediapro officials were quoted that the company will to continue showing matches without making payments to AVS or Sogecable
