The Scottish Football Association (SFA) has secured a new broadcasting deal with Sky Sports and BBC that could result in GBP 60 million in revenue over a 4-year period between 2010 and 2014.
Sky Sports has acquired exclusive rights to the home international matches, while a series of highlights and five cup games will aired on BBC.
The agreement is gladly welcomed by SFA Chief Executive Gordon Smith, who believes the new broadcasting deal will only add to optimism for the future.
"The Scottish FA is at the heart of the game here in Scotland. Every year we invest millions of pounds in Scotland's clubs, players and coaches. Thanks to this new deal we will be able to take this investment to a new level and to make sure that more people than ever before have the chance to play football," Smith announced.
