ESPN-Star Sports, a Pan-Asian television sports broadcaster, has obtained the exclusive rights to the 2010 football World Cup in South Asia.

According to the Press Trust of India, Sepp Blatter, FIFA president, stated that the agreement 'ensures that images of our events including the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be seen by the widest possible audience across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.'
