A 30-year tradition soon will be over as French commercial broadcaster TF1 lost the rights for Ligue 1 highlights to public-service Télévisions' France 2.
The broadcaster has aired the highlights on the Téléfoot programme since 1977. France 2 starts its show with the 2007-08 season.
TF1 offered less money for a new deal than the EUR 13.1 million a year it had been paying. According to the league, France 2's offer was better in terms of quality and financially.
