Germany's leading broadcasters have shown expanded interest in the Champions League rights.
June 8 is the bidding deadline. Pay-broadcaster Premiere holds the rights and shows no sign of wanting to relinquish them.
Team Marketing is UEFA's agent in the tender process, and launched a call for bids 9 May. Interest has been impressive with ARD, ProSieben, RTL, Sat. 1 and ZDF all indicating an interest in the bidding.
The tender covers three seasons. The number of matches available in the pay-television package has expanded from 125 to 146 with a the third qualifying round of the Champions League and the Uefa Super Cup, the annual match between the winners of the Champions League and the Uefa Cup.
