EURO 2008 broadcast deal in Portugal

Televisão Independente S.A. (TVI) and SPORT TV Portugal S.A. (SPORT TV) will be the UEFA official broadcast partners in Portugal for EURO 2008.
TVI was granted the exclusive free-to-air broadcast rights to 20 matches of the tournament. The remaining eleven matches will be transmitted exclusively on SPORT TV, which has been awarded the pay television broadcast rights to all 31 matches of the tournament.
The broadcast rights to the UEFA European Championship are being sold on a market-by-market basis for the first time in the 46-year history of the tournament. SPORTFIVE is the exclusive sales agent for European broadcast rights relating to EURO 2008.
