Dutch Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven is to radically improve the streaming internet video experience on its PSV TV web channel.

The club has decided to team-up with Vusion, an American-based company, to replace the traditional Microsoft Media Player streaming tool and provide video broadcasts through Vusion's player browser plug-in.

The new technology provides fans with the opportunity to watch web video in television quality and comfort, while eliminating the need for video buffering and reloads.

Peter Kentie, the club's Media & Marketing Manager, said that the new technology improves streaming internet video to a level that users had never experienced, and that such technology is an important step for the Dutch sport media rights market.

"PSV always seeks improvement in innovative and advanced technologies to explore its media offering," said Kentie.

PSV TV provides a unique and extensive free video content and it is the club's main communication channel with its domestic fan base. Aside to its website offering, PSV TV also features video clips through You Tube and recently started airing a daily 20 min show in the Eredivisie Live TV channel.
