IT network for the 2006 FIFA World Cup
|
FIFA officials have commenced the installation of a converged voice and data network. The communication system is linking more than 30 different locations including offices, stadiums, hotels and transport hubs. The network will run critical applications for the event, including web site hosting, results systems, content management, and systems to manage the event itself. FIFA has selected Deutsche Telekom as its official telecommunications partner, with Yahoo! providing web site support, and Toshiba providing PC hardware.
