Reading and Sheffield United to use Scout7 services

Scout7, a player database company, will have its services used by English clubs Reading and Sheffield United.

The system allows clubs to manage their own scouting information centrally in their own secure private system, accessible on the Web, but it will also permit both clubs to track and monitor more than 70,000 youth and professional players. The ProScout7 database of information covers domestic football in more than 50 countries spread over five continents, in addition to international football in more than 120 countries from Under-16 Level up to Senior.

Based in central Birmingham, Scout7 provides scouting and recruitment management solutions to professional football clubs and national football associations.

Both clubs finalised deals with Scout7 to implement the technology within the club, where staff in the scouting, recruitment and player academy departments can be trained during the summer so they maximise the benefits the system has to offer.

“I believe that embracing technology off the field in preparation and information management is an integral part of moving forward and operating efficiently,” said Nick Hammond, Reading’s Director of Football. “And ProScout7 will allow us to monitor professional players and manage our own information effectively over the summer and into the new season.”
