Hong Kong CSL, PCCW and Hutchison Telecommunications, the Hong Kong mobile operators, signed a contract for the next three seasons with Nimbus Sport, an Indian sports marketing company, to broadcast Barclays Premier League matches online.

Nimbus Sport was recently granted the league's new media distribution rights in 80 countries and will air internet and mobile rights for the next three years, covering all 1140 matches that will be played until from 2009 to 2010.

After the 2009-2010 season, near-live video clips, highlights, match reviews and previews of every match for will be offered by the operators through subscription and pay-per-view services.

Last week Nimbus signed an agreement with SBS, the Australian public-service broadcaster, which will allow SBS to offer highlights of all the league's matches by way of its dedicated online football portal www.theworldgame.com.au.

SBS will broadcast Barclays Premier League matches online beginning in October 2007. The clips can be accessed for free and will show match-day round ups and features such as goal and match of the week.

"Football is booming in Australia and we are excited to be working with SBS to bring coverage of the world's premier football league to millions of fans down under," said Nimbus Sport CEO, Digvijay Singh.

The company is also selling mobile and internet clip rights for the next three seasons in countries worldwide. It includes major Asian territories such as China, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand, India and Pakistan, along with Middle Eastern and North African territories, such as the UAE and Saudi Arabia. It will also cover Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Greece in Europe and Brazil, Australia and New Zealand.
