Rangers FC plans to save money with an online ticketing system.

The customer relationship management system will allow 42,000 season ticket holders to renew memberships online, and also be used to book tickets for away matches and other competitions.

Software4Sport developed the system, which is based on a technology called Talent Sport ticketing and used by others such as English clubs Liverpool, Ipswich and Leeds United.

“By giving supporters the opportunity to do all this in one go, we have made the process quicker and easier,” said Andy Ward, head of ticketing for Rangers. “Because it is automated, supporters get an instant confirmation of their purchase.”

The club says it will be able to save money by cutting down the temporary staff it needs to employ to process season ticket applications.

“This year, we have been able to reduce temporary staff headcount by ten people, thanks to the new service and other cost efficiencies that Talent Sport brings,” Ward said.
