England manager Sven Goran Eriksson has knocked Michael Owen off the top spot in Megasoccer’s top ten searches for September. Last month saw a return to the group qualifying stages of the World Cup and after England’s disastrous defeat in their friendly with Denmark fans were hoping for a massive turnaround. Eriksson was the most searched-for football manager on search engine Megasoccer.com last month bringing Michael Owen’s reign at the top of the Megasoccer charts to an end.
Sven’s time as England manager has been tumultuous this year, England’s friendly back in August with Denmark started the tide of concern with a 4-1 defeat that shocked England fans. September marked the return of the World Cup qualifying group matches and the stage was set for England, however despite finally qualifying for the World Cup on Saturday with their win against Austria there are many who believe Sven has his work cut out to prove England’s strength in next year’s World Cup. Their game against Poland next week will give them a chance to try out new formations as Sven tries to put together a formidable team that should take the World cup by storm.
