Manchester City to integrate Scout7

English Manchester City became the 15th Premier League club to make a deal with Scout7, a Birmingham based international player database company. The club will utilise the company's ProScout7 program, a scouting and recruitment management system.

Under the direction of Derek Fazackerley and Chief Scout Graham Carr, Manchester City's scouts in the UK and abroad, will access the secure ProScout7 system to input and archive all the individual player reports. The reports will be saved and stored centrally on the Internet.

The club's staff could access all its match reports at a faster speed and more efficiently after the club's opposition assessor inputs the match reports into the system.

Manchester City Manager Stuart Pearce think that the ProScout7 technology will prove to be an important asset within the club's structure in the coming years.

"Scout7 is used at the vast majority of clubs in our league as well as at leading clubs across Europe," said Pearce.

"The system has a large amount of information on football throughout the world, covering both domestic and international football, including all the major confederation and friendly tournaments at senior and youth levels.

"As well as having access to this information, our staff can put all of their work into the same system, which means that all the information is available in one place and can be accessed anywhere by us on the internet, at the training ground, at home or if we are on a trip abroad.

"With this information we can use the system proactively and as a good objective point of reference for a player."

As part of the agreement with Scout7, Manchester City will be have its ProScout7 system developed to include its own Player Report template.

The club's existing papers are filed at the training ground but will be transferred into the ProScout7 system. This will let all papers be accessible anywhere by the senior club staff over a computer that has Internet access.

Carr thinks that the information available in the ProScout7 database will be an immense help to him and other key members of the club's staff.

"The detail of information in each player record is very comprehensive," he said. "All the player's statistics at both domestic and international level are listed. We can see how many games a player plays and misses each season."

The system will include statistics from the youth and senior levels, career milestones and the expiration date of the contract.

Currently, more than 60 professional football clubs throughout Europe are using the Scout7 system.
