Local authority to fund Chicago Fire’s new stadium
|
The Bridgeview local authority is to fully-fund the cost of Major League Soccer club 20,000-seat stadium, in return for greater control of ownership. The US$80m to fund the stadium will be raised by selling in bonds. Club owner Anschutz Entertainment Group will manage the stadium will pay US$300,000 a year to the local authority to use it. The club will share in the revenue from gross ticket sales, net concessions, parking, suite rentals, stadium naming rights, and merchandise sales.
