Liverpool and Everton to meet Sports Minister

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

Rick Parry, Liverpool chief executive and Everton chairman Bill Kenwright are to meet Minister Richard Caborn to discuss the possibility of sharing a single stadium.

The meeting comes at a time when Liverpool has plans to move into a stadium of its own at Stanley Park, although, according to media reports, costs have risen from an initial £80m estimate to over £100m, and Everton officials terminated plans to build its own stadium in the Kings Dock area of the city last
year, due to it being too expensive. However, supporters from both clubs have expressed strong concerns over proposals for a single-stadium to be built in the city.
