Leeds United sold training grounds to reduce debt

The Thorp Arch training facility, one of the Championship club most valuable assets, has been sold in a deal worth £4m. The deal will help the club reduce the current debts, reported to be around £35m. However, the club will lease the grounds for 25 years and if finances will improve, the ground can be bought back. "In an ideal world it's not an option we would have taken, but our number one priority is to reduce this club's debt so it can operate again under normal circumstances,”  the club chief operating officer Shaun Harvey told media.
