Liverpool received an approval for new stadium
|
The Premier League club has received approval from Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott for its new 60,000 seats stadium at Stanley Park. The plan which was approved by the local authorities in July was sent to Prescott to formally approve the project due to its size, and the scale of opposition to it. The total cost of the project has reportedly increased to £120m, but the club is confident the money could be raised. Construction is expected to start next spring, with plans to complete in 2007.
