Hearts to sell Tynecastle stadium to property developers

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Premier League club is expected to sell its ground to developer Cala for £20.5m. Chief executive Chris Robinson, who has been a long-term advocate of the Tynecastle sale plan, was the main target of angry supporters. The hostile atmosphere was controlled by a strong police presence that was deployed to prevent any disorder. Meanwhile, chairman George Foulkes says the club will consider a proposal by the man who designed Tynecastle to adapt the venue to meet UEFA requirements. The club will play its UEFA Cup fixtures at Murrayfield this season as the Tynecastle pitch is 2 meters short than the UEFA minimum of 100 meters.
