The Championship club project for new 23,000 seats stadium at Falmer face another delay after the government has announced the inquiry into stadium plans is to re-open – with seven site options listed for consideration in the Brighton area. The club is been without its own stadium since leaving the Gioldstone ground seven years ago. The club first applied for planning permission to build the stadium in Falmer, close to the site of Brighton's two universities three years ago. Although city council and local MPs backed the scheme, some Falmer residents had objected.
