Tottenham Hotspurs Olympic Stadium plan dashed
|
The Premier League club hopes of moving to London's 2012 Olympic Stadium have been dashed after Games organizers said athletics would remain its core use. Club chairman Daniel Levy had hinted the club might move to the proposed 80,000-seater stadium in Stratford, East London. But London 2012's Jackie Brock-Doyle quashed the idea. "We are committed to building a stadium with athletics at its core. The aim is to provide a sustainable post-Games legacy for athletics," she said. The stadium will hold just 25,000 after the Games, with the other 55,000 temporary seats removed. The club is looking to expand their 36,000 capacity at White Hart Lane or move to another location. |
