Brighton to install 2,000 more seats
|
The Championship club will begin work on putting in 2,000 extra seats at The Withdean Stadium after they were granted permission for a third park and ride site for matchday use. A third site - now approved by the city council's environment committee - was one of the conditions the club had to satisfy for the new seats to be built. "This is the final hurdle to putting in the seats," chief executive Martin Perry told the club's website. "Work will commence on 25 July, to be completed by the end of January." The Withdean Stadium, which has been Brighton’s home since 1999, currently has a capacity of 7,000 seats. The club is due to discover by 31 October whether their planned new stadium at Falmer has been approved by the Deputy Prime Minister's office. |
