Removable glass roof for Luzhniki ground
|
Moscow's Luzhniki 80,000-capacity stadium, home of Premier League club Torpedo Moscow, is to see a new removable glass roof. The project is led by Nodar Kancheli, the controversial engineer who built an aqua park in Moscow where the roof collapsed in February 2004 killing 28 people. Initial plans for the roof were scrapped in the late 1990s, when the ground was rebuilt and hosted the 1999 UEFA Cup final between Italian club Parma and French team Marseille.
