Barcelona is looking to move its training center to Espanyol’s Montjuic stadium

The Primera Liga club is to open its Ciudad Deportiva training complex in November to be initially used by its youth teams. Club president Joan Laporta who is eager to refurbish the NouCamp stadium, has been working on a real estate deal to sell the land used for the Miniestadi training center and moving its training centre to Montjuic stadium, once Espanyol has moved to its new stadium in the district of Cornella. Laporta has already discussed the matter with mayor Joan Clos as the club aim to make use of facilities that would not otherwise be employed. "Nothing has been formally presented to the mayor yet as the operation has to be studied - but it is likely to take place in the mid to long term," Laporta commented to media
