Scottish Premier League (SPL) clubs voted in favor of allowing the league’s Executive Board to have the power of veto over the introduction of artificial turf pitches for clubs playing in its competition. The five-person board consists of John McClelland, vice-chairman of Rangers, Eddie Thompson, chairman of Dundee United, Rob Pietrie, chairman of Hibernian, James Moffat, chairman of Kilmarnock with the chairman, Lex Gold, having a casting vote. The decision can blow fellow club Dunfermline process of laying an artificial turf pitch at East End Park.
