According to a report published by SPORT MARKT, the top European clubs received a combined total of nearly €331m from shirt sponsorship deals this season. Although Italian Serie A club Juventus has the most lucrative deal this season receiving €18.5m from its agreements with Sky Sport and Tamoil, usurping the top spot from the €17m p.a. deal between German 1.Bundesliga
club Bayern Munich and Deutsche Telekom, the German clubs’ market is still being on the leader with € 88.56m representing 26.8% market share. The English Premier League is receiving a cumulative €60.8m representing an 18.4% market share.

“The recent resurgence in the advertising sector in Europe and in the UK helped by the UEFA Euro 2004 has been reflected by an increase in the overall size of the European jersey sponsorship market for the following season,” Oliver Butler, account director at SPORT MARKT commented on the findings.
