English Stoke City Football Club have agreed to continue their sponsorship contract with Britannia with a GBP 4 million deal, which will last another four years, Sky Sports reports.

This will make the Stokes the record holders for the longest running sponsorship in the history of the Premier League. The agreement is to last until 2013.

The original deal was the naming rights sponsor for the club back in 1997.

Chief Operating Officer of the Co-operative Financial Services for Britannia, Tim Franklin, is pleased with the company’s involvement with the football club, and looks forward to ‘continued commercial success,’ related to increased exposure for the brand.
