English Manchester United has gained a five-year sponsorship deal with Globacom Limited. The contract is to be officially announced on 6 November.

Telecommunications company Globacom has a reputation for being Africa’s biggest football supporter. Mr. Paddy Adenuga, Globacom’s Group Executive Director, commented that the move is consistent with the goal of the ‘positive transformation of the youths through football.’

The deal includes a youth development programme as well as free trips for fans to Old Tafford grounds so they can enjoy 14 live matches from the Premiership, UEFA Champions League and the FA Cup.
