English Norwich City and Aviva will continue working together for an additional year, thanks to a deal extension recently inked between the two parties.

The lengthened contract was revealed at the Royal Norfolk Show earlier this week and reiterated by pinkun.com.

As a result, the insurance company will remain part of the club through to the end of the 2012 season.

In addition to sponsoring the Geoffrey Watling City Stand, Aviva will use the venue lounges for business and local events.

David McNally commented on the new deal, noting that Aviva’s support has been ‘significant’ in recent years, helping to bring them to the main sponsor level.

With the original terms of the agreement set to expire next year, the New City chief executive called the extension ‘fantastic news’ for both the club and the sport.

Director of Business Development John Kennedy spoke on Aviva’s behalf, indicating that the company has been ‘very pleased’ by their progress in the first year of lead sponsorship with New City.

He went on to point out that the partnership has helped to promote positive changes within the local area, referring to community involvement as ‘a core objective’ of the group.
