English Hull City FC has signed a two-year shirt sponsorship deal totesport.
totesport has paired up with the club in an attempt to increase their brand exposure worldwide. As a result, totesport becomes the first high-profile, UK-based sports betting company to partner with a Premier League club.
The totesport.com online logo will appear on Hull City home shirts, while the away shirts will feature retail branding. The new design, which is set to be revealed prior to the start of the upcoming season, will become part of Hull City’s pre-season campaign next month.
Hull City Chairman Paul Duffen commented on the partnership, indicating that the club is in search of ways to increase their success ‘both on and off the field’. He further noted that Hull City is ‘delighted’ to introduce the totesport brand to the club’s hefty fan base.
Duffen spoke highly of the deal, calling it ‘one of the most important commercial partnerships in the history of the club’.
Totesport Chief Executive Trevor Beaumont reiterated the statement issued by Duffen, confirming that they are the first UK bookmaker to appear on the front of a Premier League shirt.
In addition to providing a service for the club’s venue, Beaumont noted that the shops located in the Hull area will provide the company an opportunity to exploit their brand within the community.
Hull City is one of many Premier League clubs to join forces with an online gambling company, joining the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Sunderland, Bolton Wanderers and Wigan Athletic.
