Italian Serie A club Udinese have formed a sponsorship contract with Dacia, a Romania-based car manufacturer owned by Renault France. The amount of the deal has not been revealed.

Dacia has had some recent hardship with declining sales and has halted production twice over the past two months. This is following an increase in European sales of nearly 40 percent, according to Realitatea TV. Andre Baracco, Renault Italia communication director, explained that it is hoped that the deal will help 'raise the profile of the Dacia brand on the Italian market.' Renault purchased Dacia in 2000 to launch its Logan model car, and has profited from the investment since 2004, particularly in Western Europe.
