English Manchester City is holding talks with Etihad, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, to replace Thomas Cook as shirt sponsors.

Thomas Cook already announced that its GBP 2.3 million annual deal would not be renewed next summer.

Although several other companies have also expressed an interest, Etihas ties with the club owners could pave its way to get the deal.

According to the Guardian, the deal could be the biggest of its kind in English football, beating Manchester United's GBP 65.5 million four-year deal with AIG.
