Manchester United Sign up Premiere

The Premier League club has appointed WPP consultancy Premiere as its exclusive sponsorship development partner. The company will work with the club’s commercial team on the long term strategic development of the club’s sponsorship programme. Andy Anson, Commercial Director of Manchester United, said: 'We are committed to continuing to grow our brand globally and sponsor partners will play a significant role in that growth. In addition to our long term relationships with Nike and Vodafone, we will be working with our existing Platinum partners to help define future programmes as we look for the next generation of relationships.' Sir Martin Sorrell, Chief Executive of WPP, is delighted with the appointment, saying: “Our aim as a Group is to work with the best brands in the world. Manchester United is one of the world’s biggest brands in team sport.  The combination of the strength of the Manchester United brand, Première’s experience in sports marketing and our global network makes us confident that we can deliver significant value to the club”. The appointment, which was made after a competitive review, begins with immediate effect and will be led by Première’s Chief Executive, Jim O’Toole, who commented: 'This is a very exciting assignment and we look forward to supporting Manchester United’s commercial team in engineering a new world- class club partnership model.'
