Thai brewer mulls bid for Liverpool sponsorship

Adjust font size: Decrease font Enlarge font
The Thai Brewer led by Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, one of the country's richest men, is considering a bid to be kit sponsor for the Premier League club in 2005/06 season after agreeing a £ 1.5m deal to put its Beer Chang elephant logo on shirts of rival Premiership club Everton this year. “We are not keen to buy stake in either Liverpool or Everton, because football is not our core business," the company's adviser said. "We want to be involved in sponsorship deals because it will help support our beer marketing activities". If Thai Beverages takes over the Liverpool sponsorship, it would oust current sponsor Denmark's Carlsberg.
