The company sponsor the Football League unveiled an innovative new incentive scheme challenging the 72 League clubs to score a total of 4500 or more goals. If they are successful, Coke will donate a £1m prize to fund a young or apprentice player, at each of the 72 clubs for a full season. "One of our aims is to make the game more enjoyable for the fans. Another is to continue to support the grassroots of football, as we've done for years, strengthening its future in this country. The £1m Goal Chase is a fun idea that we hope will bring these two together, adding extra excitements across the season in anticipation of something genuinely valuable to clubs and fans alike - new talent" said Steve Cumming, the company’s sponsorship manager.
