Welsh Wrexham in a new shirt sponsor deal

League Two club Wrexham, which recently agreed a deal to come out of administration, announced Ewloe-based commercial finance company Leasedirect will be their new jersey sponsors.

As part of the deal, to encourage the club to play attacking football, the Welsh club will get a GBP 500 bounty every time Wrexham scores three goals in a match this season.

Leasedirect agreed to a one-year deal with Wrexham, with an option for a further 12 months. The full value of the contract has not been disclosed.

The company stepped in to back Wrexham at short notice, after a previously-arranged sponsorship deal fell through last week. Managing director Paul Buchanan said he was delighted to be involved with the club.

"We had previously expressed an interest in helping Wrexham, and when the opportunity arose to be their main sponsor we jumped at the chance," Buchanan said.
