The Bundesliga club and the online betting firm agreed to a new shirt and main sponsorship agreement, the first time betandwin will be the main sponsor of a German club. The deal is for three years with an option for a fourth. Terms of the deal were not released.

Along with being displayed on the team’s jerseys and training and coaching gear, betandwin will also advertise inside the club’s Weser stadium and be prominently displayed on the team’s website.

Marcus Meyer, Director of betandwin e.K, said: “The contract with Werder Bremen is a big step for betandwin. This is our first time as the main sponsor of a Bundesliga club. From the beginning our collaboration with Werder Bremen was one of great mutual appreciation. By taking on the new shirt and main sponsorship, betandwin is supporting one of Germany's most likable clubs on its way to the European elite.”

The Managing Director Marketing of Werder Bremen, Manfred Muller, added: “For Werder Bremen, the contract with betandwin represents a real milestone and the logical evolution of a partnership that has closely united us for two years already. betandwin puts a successful company and a vibrant, powerful and innovative brand at our side - the very traits embodied by Werder Bremen.”

Betandwin was founded in 1990.
