The Premier League club Manchester United and Korean firm LG Electronics have ended negotiations toward a new shirt sponsorship deal. LG, the world’s fourth-largest mobile phone maker, was reportedly negotiating a four-year, GBP 40 million deal with the club.

“It seems that they (Manchester United) are playing with media in order to raise the price in the bidding,”' an LG official has told the Korea Times.

LG rival Samsung Electronics recently finalized a deal with Manchester United league rivals Chelsea FC. Samsung and Chelsea agreed on a reported 5-year, GBP 12 million-shirt sponsorship.
