FULHAM FC SIGNS SPONSORSHIP DEAL WITH FRENCH SUPPLIER AIRNESS
The London-based Premier League team signed a three-year kit sponsorship deal with Airness, which replaces current sponsors Puma. The new deal will take effect for the 2006/07 season.
Airness is a newcomer in the sporting apparel market, started in 1999 by French designer Malamine Koné. The company’s logo is an alert panther, coinciding with the brand’s slogan: “Toujours plus haut, toujours plus fort,” which translates into English as “Always higher, always stronger.”
Despite only operating for seven years, Airness already supplies kits to a number of French Ligue 1 teams including Nantes, Lille and Rennes. It also manufactures kits for the Portugal’s Boavista and for Genk in Belgium, as well as supplying the African national teams DR Congo, Guinea and Mali.
David McNally, Fulham Football Club's Managing Director commented: “This is a particularly exciting deal for the club from both a commercial and consumer perspective. Airness is an ambitious brand which focuses on quality for the clubs it supplies and also for supporters of those clubs.”
Founder Koné added: “It is a real honour for me to associate the image and the combativeness of the Airness Panther to a young, ambitious and dynamic team like Fulham FC.”
Airness has an annual turnover of around GBP 65 million. The new kit will be revealed at the end of the current season.
